Dr. Christina Hansen is a postdoctoral research associate and former PhD graduate in the Pelegri lab. She is interested in the maternally-inherited factors responsible for key events in early development, such as ribonucleoparticle components and their contributions to germ line determination. Christina is studying how these factors interact in order to properly coordinate embryogenesis.
While earning her PhD, Christina completed a doctoral minor in the Life Sciences Communication (LSC) Department at UW-Madison and received the Wisconsin Initiative for Science Literacy (WISL) Award for Communicating PhD Research to the Public based on this work: http://www.scifun.org/Thesis_Awards/hansen-thesis-web.pdf
She also enjoys using her scientific expertise to contribute to improving the quality of content available to the public on Wikipedia as a Wiki Scientist.
Christina is the creator and primary curator of this website.
