Caroline is a masters student in the Endocrinology and Reproductive Physiology Training Program. She is investigating techniques for bio-storage/biobanking in order to preserve genetic biodiversity, especially for vulnerable animal populations. She is particularly interested in pursuing DNA barcoding, egg enucleation, and animal cloning for conservation. Caroline has led the adoption of the lab’s newest animal model system – tardigrades!
Some of Caroline’s work was featured in an article by GROW magazine: https://grow.cals.wisc.edu/departments/features/the-race-to-the-animal-vault
